About Well Awareness

Well Awareness is a holistic approach to our health and wellbeing established in 2021 by yoga teacher, wellness coach and physiotherapist Thevendri Sabga.

Thevendri is the co-owner of the Care Institute, a conglomerate of physiotherapy clinics in Southern Ontario. In 2021 she received her yoga certification from Himalayan master Yogrishi Vishvketu (PhD) under whom she studied the Akhanda Yoga tradition. She is a certified holistic wellness coach through the IAWP.

Inspired by her own wellness journey, Thevendri is dedicated to guiding her clients out of a “busy mindset” and to discover a more balanced and purposeful way of being.

Our world is consumed with the mindset of productivity and busyness. We have become so accustomed to living a fast-paced life that we wear our busyness like a badge of honour.

But what if there was a more balanced way to live?

Through yoga, meditation and wellness coaching Thevendri is hoping to share the art of balance with her clients so they may connect with a deeper sense of purpose and meaning in their lives.

Taking time for your well being is vitally important. Our wellness team is looking forward to being your guide along your path toward a more inspired, purposeful and balanced way of life.

About Well Awareness

Well Awareness, founded in 2021, represents a comprehensive journey towards health and wellbeing, spearheaded by Thevendri Sabga, a distinguished yoga teacher, wellness coach, and physiotherapist.

Thevendri, who co-owns the Care Institute, a network of physiotherapy clinics in Southern Ontario, is deeply immersed in the world of holistic health. Her expertise was further enriched in 2021, following her yoga certification under the tutelage of Himalayan master Yogrishi Vishvketu (PhD) in the Akhanda Yoga tradition. Additionally, her credentials as a certified holistic wellness coach were attained through the IAWP.

Drawing from her personal experiences in managing chronic pain, Thevendri has evolved into a devoted chronic pain coach. She focuses on steering individuals away from the relentless whirlwind of daily life, instead fostering a more meaningful and balanced existence. Her approach is not just about alleviating physical discomfort but also about nurturing a holistic sense of wellbeing.

At Well Awareness, we understand that in today's world, the relentless pursuit of productivity often leads to neglect of one's physical and mental health. Thevendri's mission is to shift this paradigm, offering a sanctuary where chronic pain is not just managed but understood as a part of a larger picture of wellness.

But what if there was a Pain-free way to live?

Through yoga, meditation and wellness coaching Thevendri is hoping to share the art of balance with her clients so they may connect with a deeper sense of purpose and meaning in their lives.

Taking time for your well being is vitally important. Our wellness team is looking forward to being your guide along your path toward a more inspired, purposeful and balanced way of life.

Embracing My Path as a Chronic Pain Coach

I am Theven Sabga, and my journey to becoming a chronic pain coach has been both deeply personal and profoundly enlightening. It began with a simple yet profound question I asked myself every day: "Is there a more balanced way of life?" My pursuit of an answer started in 2019 when I embarked on a wellness coaching journey that promised a three-dimensional view of health and wellness.

This wasn't a superficial glance at myself; it was a deep dive into the very fabric of my being. I knew I had to shed weight and get it under control, but it was the underlying stress contributing to my weight that surfaced during my introspection. Looking at all aspects of my life helped me uncover the root causes of my problems, allowing me to heal from the inside out.

Now, life is busier than ever, but through my journey, I've discovered what living a truly balanced life feels like. I’ve learned to prioritize differently, putting my self-care routines into practice. My work has become more inspired, and I've mastered the art of drawing energy from it instead of allowing it to drain me. The introspective time I carve out for myself isn't just about self-reflection; it's about seeing the big picture and planning accordingly. This daily process of refinement enables me to show up as the best version of myself.

Despite a thriving career, a successful business, and a dream home, life has humbled me with lessons through the health and wellbeing of my precious family. Marrying my husband Ed, an ER physician with Crohn's, introduced infectious laughter and unexpected challenges into my life. We’ve learned to dance under stormy skies, navigating his condition while balancing our careers and maintaining an abundance of love in our home.

Then there's Zach, my firstborn, whose quiet demeanor and thoughtful nature always impressed our guests. When he was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the tender age of eight, our world was turned upside down. The medications changed him, and he turned to food for comfort, retreating into himself. My role was to inspire an environment where my family felt loved and supported, a task made more poignant as I watched my daughter Talia learn from my every move.

I had to remain healthy, not just for me but for my family, drawing from a wellspring of spirituality, discipline in self-care, proper nutrition, and movement. I am overjoyed to report Zachary's full recovery post-surgery, growing into a mature, spiritual, and wise young man. Ed continues to manage his chronic Crohn’s, and his positive outlook is inspiring. And now, as Talia starts her university journey, we face her recent Crohn’s diagnosis together, managing stress and forming positive mindsets.

My 30 years as a physiotherapist and 15 years as a business owner have taught me that wellness transcends the physical. Chronic isn't a sentence to suffering; it's a signal for a plea of healing, deserving attention in all facets—mental, emotional, and spiritual.

I invite you to join me on this journey. Together, let's take that first step toward your overall wellbeing and the healing that awaits.

“I’ve asked myself

everyday if there was a more balanced way of life.”

My B.U.L.L.E.T.P.R.O.O.F coaching program helps you HEAL from a lifetime of NARCISISTIC ABUSE.

To honor your needs and strengths each day, despite your chronic pain, begin by acknowledging your reality; your pain is a part of your life, but it does not define your entirety. Take a moment each morning to listen to your body and your heart—what do they need today? This might mean adjusting your schedule to include rest, practicing gentle movements or stretches, or engaging in activities that bring you joy and fulfillment.

Reflect on your strengths and let them be the tools with which you build your day. Perhaps you have great empathy, an analytical mind, or a creative spirit—use these strengths to navigate around your pain. If your empathy is a strength, for example, seek connection with others, which can be both healing for you and uplifting for them. If it’s your intellect, engage in work or hobbies that stimulate your mind and distract from the pain.'

Remember to set realistic and flexible goals for yourself. Celebrate small victories, because with chronic pain, small steps are just as significant as the larger leaps. It’s also important to communicate openly with those around you about your pain and how it affects you; doing so is not a sign of weakness but an act of self-respect.

Nourish your body with foods that fuel healing and reduce inflammation, and tend to your mental health with the same diligence as your physical health. Practices like mindfulness, meditation, or journaling can provide mental and emotional relief, turning the focus away from pain and towards growth and healing.

Lastly, reach out for support when you need it. Whether it’s from a healthcare professional, a support group, or loved ones, you don’t have to manage your pain alone. Together, we can craft a path that respects your pain but also paves the way for a life defined by vitality and resilience."

There are no quick fixes, its a holistic approach to health and well-being and it’s certainly not a straight line.

The only thing we can change is ourselves. How I chose to take care of myself and respond to what's going on around me is part of wellbeing.

I started my wellness coaching journey in 2019. It attracted me because of the 3-dimensional view of looking at a person’s health and wellness.

I had to do the work and look at myself deeply and work out my own kinks. I knew I needed to lose weight and get that under control but what surfaced was the other factors such as stress which was contributing to my weight. Taking all things into account has helped me get to the root cause of my problems and helped me to heal myself from within.

These days, I am much busier, but through this process I’ve learned what living a truly balanced life feels like. I now prioritize differently and I put my self-care routines into practice. My work is much more inspired and I’ve learned how to source energy from it rather than let it drain me.

The introspective time I carve out for myself helps me see the big picture and helps me to plan. By doing this I can show up in the world as the best version of myself. I have to constantly do this everyday and you realize this is all just a process, it’s a process of constantly refining.

Honour who you want to be

and who you’re becoming. I

ask myself everyday, “how do

I want to show up?”

I realized I had so much in the external world but the source of true contentment and inner peace was within. I learned to become more conscious in every aspect of my life which improved my relationships and my work-life balance.

By tapping into the present moment I have learned to ground into a deeper sense of purpose bigger than myself. These changes have inspired me to help guide others to access their inner compass and awareness within.
